MICAFUNGIN

1. Product introduction

　　Micafungin is a new type of echinocandin antifungal drug chemically synthesized by modifying the natural product of Coleophoma empetri; it has good inhibitory activity against Candida, such as Candida albicans, Candida smooth, Candida pyogenes, Candida crematorium, and Candida near-smooth, and also good in vitro inhibitory activity against Aspergillus, but no inhibitory activity against Cryptococcus neonatorum, Fusarium, Trichophyton rubrum, and Trichosporon albicans. Micafungin is sold under the trade name Fungusrd and is currently only approved for the treatment of esophageal Candida infections, bone marrow transplantation, and prophylaxis of neutropenia in patients with ADS.
