MITOMYCIN
1. Product introduction
Mitomycin, an antitumor drug isolated from the culture of Actinomyces, is effective against a variety of solid tumors and is one of the commonly used cyclic nonspecific drugs. Structurally, it has three active groups: benzoquinone, urethane and vinylimine group. After activation by reductase in the cell, it acts to depolymerize DNA and at the same time antagonize DNA replication. It also has an inhibitory effect on RNA and protein synthesis at high concentrations, mainly in the late G1 phase and early S phase. It also acts under acidic and anaerobic conditions. Resistance is mainly caused by a decrease in cell membrane permeability, resulting in a decrease in intracellular concentration; accelerated degradation and the so-called mutation-selection mechanism.
