ASCOMYCIN

1. Product introduction

 

  Ascomycin (also known as FK-520) is a secondary metabolite isolated from the fermentation broth of Streptomyces suis var. ascomyceticus. It is a non-polar macrolide with immunosuppressive activity, originally developed by Fujisawa (Fujisawa Pharmaceuticals, Japan). Ascomycin has been used as an intermediate in the production of semi-synthetic APIs such as pimecrolimus.

  Fermentation titre: 2.5-3.5 g/L (30-100L); 2-3g/L (30Ton scale) 
  Fermentation time: 8 days; 
  Recovery yield: 40-50%
