Citrulline
1. Production introduction
Citrulline is not a major protein amino acid or part of the enzyme system; it is a product of the combination of carbon dioxide, ammonia and ornithine in the liver. Citrulline functions as a diuretic, invigorator and enhancer of the immune system. Studies have also found that citrulline plays a role in rheumatoid arthritis and the inflammatory conditions associated with it, as well as regulating blood pressure and protecting the heart and lungs.
